Ensembles Symphonic Band | Symphonic Band is a full year class. Rehearsals are two out of every three days for 70 minutes. This ensemble plays advanced high school level music and performs three concerts a year as well as large group festivals throughout the Badger Conference. This group along with the concert band is the central ensemble and main focus of the Instrumental Music Department at DeForest Area High School. Prerequisite - Audition required for the 2012-2013 school year.

Concert Band is a full year class. Rehearsals are two out of every three days for 70 minutes. This ensemble plays middle-high school level music and performs three concerts a year as well as large group festivals throughout the Badger Conference. This group along with the symphonic band is the central ensemble and main focus of the Instrumental Music Department at DeForest Area High School. Prerequisite - Active participation in Concert Band, Symphonic Band, or 8th Grade Band in previous year. 
| | Jazz Band | All members of the Jazz Ensemble must also be members of the DAHS Music Department. Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the director based on instrumental needs. This year, Jazz Band will be a graded class during the school day with REQUIRED performances outside the school day. Participants must re-apply for membership yearly. The size of the group is at the discretion of the director.
Prerequisite - Active participation in Symphonic Band or Concert Band  
| | Marching Band | All Symphonic Band students participate in fall marching band. The marching band performs at most home football games that occur during the school year. In the event that the team participates in the WIAA playoffs, the band might also perform at these games. Students who have conflicts with marching band due to other school activities occurring at the same time (example: Varsity Football players) may be exempt from participating at those performances as long as prior written notice is given to the band director. Students who are affected will notify the band director immediately when a conflict is discovered so that there can be a discussion between the band director, coach/advisor, and the high school administration so that the conflict may be resolved. Athletic practices/activities do not take precedence over a marching band performance. Please be considerate to all the organizations that you are involved in and try to split your time evenly among all activities.

| | Pep Band | The pep band performs at basketball, hockey and volleyball games throughout the school year. To ensure a quality performance with enough participants, all band students will be required to participate in at least four pep band games throughout the school year. Students are encouraged to participate in as many games as possible. Currently there are eight pep band games scheduled (1 volleyball, 6 basketball, 1 hockey).
Prerequisite - Active participation in Symphonic Band or Concert Band
