| History |
- 1984 - DeForest Area Business & Education Partnership Council (DAB&EPC) was established in response to Department of Public Instruction's Education for Employment standard requirments. The DAB&EPC established a mission, operational structure, a variety of membership levels for local businesses, and several school-related activities. The primary puspose of the DAB&EPC was to "combine energies and resources to enrich the educational process and prepare today's students for tomorrow's workplace... so that young people could gain the academic and employment skills they needed to make a living and continue learning in the global economy... and for DeForest area businesses to remain competitive."
- 1984-2002 - Several formal and informal activities were implemented, increasing partnerships between education and business. This resulted in a better awareness by school staff and students of local business needs and operations. It also provided businesses with opportunities to interact with students.
- 2002-2003 - Decision was made to phase out the DAB&EPC with the intention of building upon the successes already in place and expanding collaboration efforts between the school district and the business community.
- Fall 2005 - DeForest Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors approved formation of an Education Committee.
- November 21, 2005 - Education Committee held it's first planning session.
