Lions Club Raffle to raise funds for project
Design Drawings:
Each year the District's long-range plan for replacement of fixed assets and equipment is reviewed and capital projects are selected based on established criteria, such as cost, safety, energy savings, and other factors. In 2009-10 the high school stadium facilities were identified as a priority for improvements. The first phase, completed in 2010-11, included replacement of the visitor's side bleachers, which improved safety and increased seating capacity. After several months of study, the second phase of the bleacher replacement plan will be implemented in 2011-12. This project has five main goals: - increase seating capacity for home games
- meet current code for bleacher safety
- reconstruct field drainage
- address need for additional storage for school and community extra-curricular activities
- improve accessibility
Roberts Construction Associates, Inc. has assisted the District in developing this project. Plunkett Raysich was chosen from a bid process for architectural services. The District is considering several options for completing all or portions of this project, which will allow for flexibility in the plan and control of costs. Our District has set aside the 2011-12 capital improvement funds, as well as a donation from the Chase Foundation, to move forward with replacement of the home side bleachers, which will expand seating capacity to 1,800. The full plan, with community interest and support, also includes a tennis storage building, additional parking, and restroom expansion. Fund raising plans will be shared in the near future.
