The DeForest "D" was created during the 2000-01 school year by high school art instructor Chris Smith and his 00-01 senior art students, in cooperation with members of the high school student council. Using the "D" to identify the "DeForest Area" School District, they artfully incorporated a Norski (Norwegian Viking) helmet into the design. We request that you notify the Office of School/Community Relations prior to using any DeForest Area School District logos. Those using the logos are asked to maintain the guidelines outlined below.
