Dear Parents/Guardians,Our District is in the process of converting our computer network and e-mail systems. As with any major technology transition, we have encountered a few issues along the way.We would like to ensure that e-mail communication between staff and parents continues to be effective and timely. Our current e-mail system (Groupwise) uses the address extension of @deforest.k12.wi.us. We are now converting to a Gmail account with the extension @deforestschools.org. Both are currently in operation. However, the Groupwise system has frequent outages. A complete list of staff e-mail addresses is available on our District website at: http://www.deforest.k12.wi.us/staffdir/staffdir.php. These addresses show the @deforest.k12.wi.us extension. If you contact a DASD staff member using this extension,and do not receive a reply in a timely manner (24 hours), please feel free to use the new e-mail address. Use the same prefix and substitute @deforestschools.org. Example: John Smith jsmith@deforest.k12.wi.us becomes jsmith@deforestschools.org.In the case of more than one staff member with the same first initial and last name, please check the directory for the appropriate prefix.The Gmail address (@deforestschools.org) will become the official extension within the next 2-3 weeks. At that time the District website staff directory will also be updated to reflect the new Gmail addresses.
