What is it?
The WE (Windsor Elementary) Run is an opportunity for every student to show their school spirit and work on their physical fitness. Each student will have 20 minutes to run or walk laps at school on a circuit designed by our own Phy. Ed. teachers.
Why are we doing it?
- This is Windsor Elementary School’s ONLY fundraiser.
- Promotes physical fitness and encourages students to set personal goals.
- The funds raised directly contribute to field trip transportation, book fair set-up, celebrations throughout the year, family events, teacher appreciation, teacher start up, and so much more!
- It's lots of fun!
- Thanks to our sponsors, 100% of the funds raised will stay at our school!
When is it?
For the 2025 school year, the WE Run will happen during the regular school day on Friday, September 26, with a rain date of Friday, October 3.
How do friends, families, neighbors pledge donations?
Students have 2 weeks to ask family members and neighbors to sponsor them for each lap or a flat rate. After the Run, students collect the funds. Families then have 1 week to turn in the donations to be eligible for cool prizes.
What does my student need to bring to school that day?
Students need a water bottle, sunscreen, and a hat. Snacks will be provided (apples or bananas for all)
How can I help?
On Friday, September 6, students will bring home fundraising information. Please encourage your student(s) to ask friends, family and neighbors for donations during the 2 weeks before the event. On this day, a link to sign up for volunteering will also be sent out to families. Please review the volunteer options ASAP and sign up if you are interested and able!
After the race, your child will be sent home with a card that states his/her total number of laps written on it. Your child will collect the pledges and turn in the donations to the school to be eligible for some great prizes! Checks should be made out to the WPTO. All donations are tax-deductible.
