Old DAHS Yearbooks for Sale!

Lost your DAHS yearbook?  Never purchased one?  Now is your chance to get a copy!  The sale will take place August 6 and 10 from 12-7 pm (during school registration) at DeForest Area High School.  Books are available for several years, ranging from 2000 to 2012.  Cost is $10 each.

Can you recite 240 digits of Pi?

Each year students in Jodi Acker’s 6th grade math class on the Badger Team participate in a “Pi” memorization contest.  The competition concludes a geometry unit where students learn about formulas, especially those that deal with circles.  According to Acker, “The number Pi is the ratio between the circumference of a circle and its diameter. It’s approximately equal to 3.14159265, although the digits go on forever.”

Yahara groundbreaking ceremony held on June 16

Yahara Elementary School held a ground breaking ceremony on Tuesday, June 16.  Several school board members joined school staff and representatives from Findroff and Bray Architects, as well as a few students, staff, and parents, to officially kick off the first of five projects approved by residents in the April 7 referendum.
