Standard Response Protocol
We want our schools to be safe and welcoming learning environments that nurture students’ cognitive, emotional, and physical well-being. We believe the safest schools foster a climate of support, respect, and community. How we respond to incidents is a vital component of school safety as well.
DASD has incorporated the Standard Response Protocol into our emergency procedures in line with guidance from the Wis. Dept. of Justice’s Office of School Safety and national recommendations on school safety.

Speak Up Speak Out
Students, parents/guardians, school staff, or community members can submit a school safety concern or threat. Created by the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of School Safety (OSS), the SPEAK UP, SPEAK OUT Resource Center is a comprehensive, one-stop place to turn with important concerns. Resource center staff work around-the-clock to respond to tips and to deploy a response locally by communicating directly with school administrators, law enforcement, and counselors. If an emergency, always call 911.
