We are grateful that our community approved the November 2024 operational referendum for the DeForest Area School District!
This decision means that, beginning in the 2025-26 school year, we will be able to raise our revenue limit by $7.9 million annually, providing critical support for our district’s needs as defined by our community.
All Wisconsin schools operate under a revenue limit, which imposes a ceiling on the amount of funding they can receive from state aid and property taxes. Due to this formula, DASD receives less funding compared to its peers in Dane County, ranking with the second lowest revenue limit in the area.
With this approved referendum, DASD will be able to:
- Maintain class sizes and instructional programming
- Manage enrollment growth and retain staff
- Maintain infrastructure, including technology, school safety, and emergency preparedness
We want to express our deepest gratitude for your support of our schools and the students we serve. This referendum’s approval will have a meaningful and lasting impact on our students, both now and in the years to come. We look forward to continuing to provide exceptional educational experiences every day and are committed to delivering on our mission with your trust and support.
