The DASD Business & Education Partnership Committee sponsors a program for K-3 classrooms called "Adopt-a-Class." This program provides an opportunity for local businesses to be involved with the DeForest Area School District by "adopting" a class. When a DeForest area business "adopts" an elementary school class, it develops a long-term relationship with students. The two work together to provide students with an insight into future careers, learn appropriate work ethics, and apply school work to the world outside of the classroom.
Teachers interested in becoming adopted may contact their building principal. Business people may contact the Office of School/Community Relations at (608) 842-6581. The Coordinator of School/Community Relations will work with principals to develop a suitable "match."
It is suggested that a minimum of four visits/activities take place during the year. Donation of gifts to students is discouraged.
