Who & What?
- Jumpstart to Kindergarten: This course is for incoming kindergarten students that are recommended for summer school and is the only course offered for these students. Students will be with the same classmates from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM and learn basic literacy, numeracy, and social emotional skills to prepare them for kindergarten. Students will also begin to learn the structure and routines of a kindergarten classroom.
- Preview Courses: Students who are recommended for summer school based on data from Aimsweb and iReady assessments will have the opportunity to enroll in literacy and/or math grade level preview courses to review knowledge and skills from this year as well as learn and practice skills that will prepare them for Fall 2025.
- These courses are based on the grade your student will be entering in the fall. Example: If your student is currently in 4th grade, they will be in 5th grade preview.
- Engagement Courses: Students who are recommended for preview courses will have priority registration to fill the remainder of their schedule with engagement courses. There are a variety of courses to choose from covering a range of topics including science, art, sign language, board games, etc. Some engagement classes may have a $5 fee per student to cover materials, which will be noted at time of registration.
Please note:
- Programming is subject to change depending on staffing.
- Enrollment capacity is subject to staffing.
- Students with multilingual support and services are welcome to attend. There will be multilingual support available, but will be limited compared to the school year.
- Students with Section 504 accommodation plans and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) are welcome to attend. We do not provide special education services, specially designed instruction, or specialized transportation for summer school. Additional support for meaningful engagement and safety will be available.
- We do not have wrap around care options through the district but there are options through the Parks and Rec programs as well as local daycares.
